MEET TEQUILA'S RELATIVE : MEZCAL

MEZCAL APPRECIATION AND PROFESSIONAL TASTING TOUR

MEZCAL DISTILLERY SINGLE DAY EXCURSION
No need to head to Oaxaca to do a mezcal tasting tour, Jalisco has its very own producing area so you can get the most out of your stay in the region!

Our mezcal tour brings you off the beaten path for a scenic adventure into the land where a local family has been producing mezcal for over four generations.

Join us for a road trip that will take us to the frontier of Jalisco and the neighboring state of Colima to a little village called Zapotitlán de Vadillo, cozily nestled at the foot of volcanos and surrounded by magnificent mountains.

Learn first-hand from the maestro mezcalero how to distinguish the variety of agaves; their properties and their single taste at the end of the process. Also, we will be instructed as to the agricultural, economic and cultural context of mezcal.

We will visit a palenque (place where mezcal is produced) for a step-by-step explanation of how the agaves are cultivated, cooked, fermented and distilled; a process which, unlike tequila, is still very artisanal and rustic.

Enjoy 100% organic and natural mezcals; these are not commercial brands therefore they are difficult to come across outside of Mexico.

This is a single day trip: we leave early in the morning and are usually back around dinner time.
